October is Black History Month in the UK, an event that has been celebrated nationwide for more than 30 years.
The month was originally founded to recognise the contributions that people of African and Caribbean backgrounds have made to the UK over many generations. Now, Black History Month has expanded to include the history of not just African and Caribbean people but black people in general. To celebrate Black History Month, each Class focused on an inspirational British Black person, they researched their chosen individual and shared their achievements with the rest of the school during a Zoom assembly. Below are factfile posters, which each Class created, to share the accomplishments of their researched person.
We were very excited to find out that a family at Redscope was related to Arthur Wharton.
