How can you help at home?

Please encourage your child to participate in our Redscope Reading Challenge. It would be great if you could read the Library book at least three times per week. We collect library books on a Tuesday and Wednesday and your child will come home with a new book they have chosen each Wednesday. Every week a book is returned your child earns 2 dojo points and if the book is changed every week throughout the half term, then an extra 5 points are awarded.

Rhyming I Spy - Look for objects around the home to use in rhyming ‘I Spy’. Here are some ideas, you will find lots more. I spy with my little eye, something that rhymes with cat” (hat, mat, bat)…something that rhymes with chair (stair, hair, bear) …something that rhymes with bed (ted, head, red).

Read these stories:- Once upon a time ... The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs. Which is your favourite traditional tale? Can you join in with the repeated refrains e.g. “Who’s been eating my porridge?” Can you find the blurb, the title, title page, front cover, back cover?

Maths - Recite numbers 1 to 20, subitise numbers 1 to 3. Extra challenge: Subitise numbers 1 to 5. Roll a dice (with dots). How many dots? Show that many fingers.

Create or design a new house for one of the little pigs. What materials will you use? Bring it to school to show everyone and earn 5 dojo points.

If you do have any questions about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact us through Class Dojo.
